    We are delighted to welcome the acclaimed contemporary music ensemble Eighth Blackbird in their subscription debut. Their appearance with the Symphony is part of an ongoing collaboration between the KCS and the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance. Jennifer Higdon’s On a Wire, composed especially for Eighth Blackbird, is introduced by Rossini’s charming Overture to La Gazza Ladra (The Thieving Magpie). Beethoven’s epic Eroica Symphony brings the concert to a powerful and dramatic conclusion.
